Recently I stumbled upon the blog called An Expatriate In Taiwan, at http://expatintaiwan.net/
The person who creates this resource, claims that he is collecting "Thoughts on language, food, and culture in Isla Formosa". In fact, that's a incredibly ego driven mumble of a person deep in heart so proud, and beloved in his own person, that the aura of self that spills over the monitor down to the table, so you need a shower just after you read few thoughts of this narcissist driven texts.
Author has made a goal for his life to collect so called "engrish" -what should be funny for those who are native English speakers, or those who are admiring themselves in mirror at them morning, singing a song like "mirror mirror tell me now, who's the most nice there?"
It is scarry and terrible, if this person is here to teach someone, I just can imagine how narcissist like this, can treat normally the students, who will just do the "engrish" every day. In that case need collect those, also upload somewhere to flickr with comments - poor Jeny, freaky style of Mr Wen, and so on.
Who actually cares is that "train station" or "trein staition" if this country is giving you Home (also, you spit on it by non-constructive" critics). Home with a big H. Like a Narcissist with big N. If the people here are nice welcoming from their hearts, while a kind of guys like author of this blog is smirking when they turn their backs? It reminds me a old ladies sitting in yard and making a comments to everyone passing by - "yeeee, this one - comes again with new boyfriend - what a whore", - you see, you see - that one - again new car, he should be taking a bribes in his governmental job.
Or another pearl from this text base:
I’ve
talked before about how horrible Taiwanese people are behind the wheel
and on the road. This post is dedicated to lawyers and judges and
people making and interpreting the laws, as they are not far behind
and, in this case, apparently leading the pack of morons.
From The China Post, with a nod to [...]
If it's that bad here, why stay then?
I need a shower.
P.S I am not native speaker as well, so I especially welcome comments that "your english is also engrish, so shut up"
P.P.S to write those mumbo-jumbos about missed letters on public toilet signs one should be very sure about his chinese writing skills.
I've taken a few pics over the years also of funny signs in English. However, I'm equally sure they pale in comparison to the mistakes I make butchering the local languages. So as long as it's kept in the attitude of fun (I need to have that attitude also when my language goofs come to light) and not any sort of cultural indictment, I guess it's OK.
